I like Rich Schefren’s work, but like most other marketers, there is with him a stunning lack of transparency for someone who speaks of transparency so often.
It is not clear at all that the ‘Doctrines’ are a much-hyped selling tool for his business development program. Most affiliates claim to be friends of Rich’s, and many are neither his friend nor a purchaser of his products. That is is a planned, intentional product launch is hidden in the hypnotic copy, with the intention to leave the impression that it’s all about sharing wisdom and giving back, when it’s really about sucking in. If only internet marketers would embrace that if their product is good enough, stating “This is a purposeful sales-pitch for my program, but I hope you find it useful regardless’, credibility about internet marketing would not be deteriorating the way it is now when the biggest people in it take this approach. Now again, I find these Rich’s Doctrines to contain great value, please do not mis-understand, it’s about the appearance of a true unfettered gift from one side of the mouth, and from the other side, pushing on the affiliates to mail on day X, spoon-feeding copy that affiliates then push out as their own, and a much more cold and calculated (read busines) approach than is expressed in the glorious posts. What is your take on all this?

Quit slacking and get the doctrine already, people. This isn’t geared for noobs like most other free reports, it’s for business people who are looking to run a better business at any level. dig?

Yes, I’m saying this on my own volition, and not getting paid for it (but I’m open to it, call me). Rich’s stuff is just really, really good. Important, even.

    Hi Jeff,

I don’t know why do you do these things, why promote a free report of someone else for free… (I don’t think Rich pays for this, do he?) What do you take for you?

Here’s what I think. I think you like sharing valuable resources with your list, just for the satisfaction of doing it… so the only think I can say to that is…

    …please continue doing it.

    Thanks Jeff,

The practice of good web marketing skills in fantastic! The way Rich has captured in, even in the simplicity of that short video, it pulls me in to want to explore the product more.

Simply glancing through the materials he has put together, I’m truly fascinated at the simplicity through which Rich has presented a clearer way to do web marketing… To even read some of the reviews from people in this business/industry is a powerful testimony to these new, or perhaps recycled, concepts!

Rich Schefrens document just sums up what I’m sure others think. Very well put together - allow yourself the best part of an hour to read it (while taking notes)…

My email inbox is filled every day with pitches… many times it gets sooooo inundated that i just don’t read any of them.

Only a few marketers have access to my email since the provide good information.

Every so often one of them goes on an offer rampage and they loose me.

So I can concur with rich that there is just so much information we have to stand above the crowd or we drown

I tried everywhere to get Rich’s other document - “the manifesto”. Even on google - in forums people posted the same questions with no answers.

Then - i stumbled across it by joining strategic profits affiliate program!

If you’ve read attention age doctrine, you’ll love the manifesto.

The front page of that document pretty much sums up what most people face when new online!!!

-[I would say Rich is considered an authority on the topic of social marketing and web 2.0 strategies, however if you look at the time lines, Jeff actually had some fantastic ideas with his blogging contest as he's actually activating his subscribers and teaching them to become part of the conversation of the web instead of simply observing it.]-

  13. David Leffler says:

The Attention Age Doctrine, although a great read, has less of a priority for beginners. It seems to me the focus of Rich’s material is for those who are ready to scale their business. If that’s where you are, then the information is pertinent. For a beginner, the nuts a bolts of the business are much more important. This is where Jeff’s program is superior. Learn the Jeff Johnson system first and then buy the Rich Schefren system.

Just noticed that on the “sales” page of the attention age doctrine at the bottom (under testimonials) is a link/reference to Mr. Jeff Johnson…

Just by having a link on Jeff’s sales page for Get More Traffic Blueprint workshop drove on average another 10 people to one of my sites per day.

    Thanks!
